Programs

At Bishop Han Theological Seminary, we are committed to equipping faithful, competent, and visionary leaders for the church and the world. Rooted in the Wesleyan tradition and responsive to the needs of contemporary ministry, our academic programs offer both depth and flexibility. Whether you are beginning your theological journey or seeking to enhance your ministry, we provide a range of degree and certificate programs designed to support your calling. Below are the programs we currently offer:

Master of Ministry (M.Min.)
The Master of Ministry is a two-year graduate program specifically crafted for active church workers—both clergy and lay leaders—who seek to deepen their theological foundation and sharpen their practical ministry skills. This program blends core courses in biblical studies, leadership, worship, pastoral care, and spiritual formation, making it ideal for those already engaged in local church service or mission work. With a strong focus on contextual ministry, the M.Min. equips students to respond effectively to the needs of their congregations and communities. It is offered in flexible formats, allowing students to choose between in-campus and modular options to fit their schedules and ministry responsibilities.

Master of Divinity (M.Div.)
The Master of Divinity is a comprehensive three-year program recognized as the standard graduate degree for those preparing for ordained ministry or advanced theological scholarship. This program offers a deep and rigorous curriculum that includes biblical languages, theology, church history, homiletics, ethics, and pastoral leadership. Students may choose between thesis and non-thesis tracks, allowing for either academic research or expanded practical coursework. The M.Div. is offered through both in-campus and modular formats, providing flexibility for full-time students and those engaged in ministry. Rooted in the Wesleyan tradition, the program emphasizes spiritual formation, contextual theology, and missional leadership—preparing students to lead faithfully and effectively in diverse ministry settings.

Doctor of Ministry in Missiology (D.Min. – Missiology)
The Doctor of Ministry in Missiology is a specialized, two-year post-graduate program designed for experienced ministers, mission workers, and church leaders who wish to engage more deeply with the theology and practice of mission in a global and local context. With a strong emphasis on applied research and contextual engagement, the program challenges students to explore new paradigms of evangelism, church planting, and intercultural ministry. The D.Min. culminates in a dissertation that reflects both academic depth and practical relevance to the student’s area of ministry. This program is ideal for those looking to advance their ministerial effectiveness and lead transformational mission initiatives in the 21st-century church.

Micro-Credential Courses
Our Micro-Credential Courses are 15-unit, short-term certificate programs that offer focused theological and ministry education for church workers, lay leaders, and lifelong learners. These courses are designed to build specific competencies without the long-term commitment of a full degree. Areas of study include Biblical Studies, Church Management, Church History, Christian Education, Pastoral Care and Guidance, and Theology/Ethics. Courses are delivered in a flexible hyflex format—allowing students to participate in person or online—making them accessible for those already in ministry or with limited time availability. These micro-credentials are stackable, meaning they can serve as a pathway toward advanced study or professional development in ministry leadership.
